I had missed that after 26.Qc2 the pawn on f5 is attacked, assuming that the only reason that white had played Qc2 was to defend a4. 26...Rd8 27.Qxf5 a4 28.Qxg4+ Kh8 29.Bc2 Rg8 A slight blunder. 29. ... Rxb2 equalises. 30.Qh3 Rg7 31.Rb1 31. Bc1 !? may have proven to be a better choice here. 31...a3 32.Bc1 Qc4 33.Qf3 Qb5 Diagram # 34.bxa3?! Qxb1 35. Bxb1 Rxb1 and the bishop on c1 drops as well ( 36. Qe3? Ba3.). 34.Qd3 axb2 35.Rxb2 Qc6 36.Qe4 A bad blunder, albeit in terrible time- trouble. 36...Rxb2 37.Bxb2 37.Qxc6 Rxc2! and the dual threats of taking on C1 with chekmate and taking the queen mean that white is completely lost. 37...Qb5 Winning the bishop because of the mating threat on f1. 38.Qd3 Qxb2 39.a4 Desperation. White is now completely lost. 39...Qc1+ 40.Bd1 Qxf4 41.Qb5 Allowing the queens to be swapped off and making black's task a lot easier. 41...Qf2 42.Qe2 Qxe2 42. ... Rf7! would have been stronger.
